Beaches Runaway Bay

Treat this page as a heads-up about a resort that is still being built. Beaches Runaway Bay is going up on the former Jewel Runaway Bay site, midway between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. Sandals' chairman has described a 450-room hotel with a Greg Norman-designed golf course and a signature waterpark. No opening date has been announced, so if your family trip is coming up soon, ask me about resorts that are open now.

• In December 2025 the chairman described plans for a Greg Norman-designed golf course, a signature waterpark and a bridge over the road.
• In May 2026 the chairman called it a new 450-room hotel that opens after Beaches Exuma and Beaches Barbados.

Before you book

• You cannot stay here yet. Beaches says the resort is under development and has not announced an opening date.
• The chairman targeted an end-2026 opening back in December 2025. Treat that as a target, not a confirmed date.
