About ninety minutes from Punta Cana airport, Dreams Playa Esmeralda is a newly built family resort in Miches that opened in September 2025. Its 500 rooms include ground-floor swim-out suites, and the water park has racer and toboggan slides for ages 9 and up, plus a splash zone. Children 3 to 12 have the Explorer's Club, teens have the Core Zone, and adults 18 and over in your group can also use Secrets Playa Esmeralda next door.

• Ten places to eat, among them a Dominican restaurant and one reserved for Preferred Club guests, plus seven bars.
• The water park has racer and toboggan slides and a splash zone. Explorer's Club takes ages 3 to 12 and Core Zone takes teens 13 to 17.
• Adults 18 and over staying here also get access to Secrets Playa Esmeralda next door, according to the Dreams site.

Before you book

• Allow for the transfer: the resort is about 60 miles, or 90 minutes, from Punta Cana International Airport.
• The racer and toboggan slides are for ages 9 and up.
